Summer School Programs

DCMO BOCES offers a variety of summer school opportunities for students in our region.

Regional Summer School

This program provides middle and high school students with opportunities for enrichment or remediation and are hosted on one or both of the DCMO campuses.  This six-week intensive learning experience provides offerings that meet State requirements for credit and provide opportunities for Regents and competency testing.  Students are referred by their home district.

Extended School Year—Summer School Program for Students with Disabilities

This six-week, full-day program is offered Monday through Friday, as a continuation of educational services for students identified by CSE as requiring services to prevent substantial regression of skills.

Summer Driver’s Education

Summer Driver’s Ed is a six-week program consisting of classroom and on-the-road instruction.  Successful completion requires attendance at all scheduled sessions and a passing grade on both the written and driver’s skills test.  Students who successfully complete the course will receive an MV-285 Certification, making the licensed student driver eligible for a senior license at age 17 as well as a reduction of insurance premium.  Students register in their home district and the district determines the registration process.

Summer Enrichment

Component districts can develop and operate summer enrichment programs on their campuses to support academic, social/emotional, or any other purpose designated.  Summer enrichment opportunities do not earn credits.
